After Friday’s fifth semi-final took place, hosts Ant and Dec announced that the judges would be able to select one more act for the grand final, with Simon Cowell stating that it should be one of the acts who placed in third during the heat.

At the beginning of tonight’s final, it was announced that comedian Tonikaku was the chosen one, with Cowell reasoning: “It was a unanimous decision - we just had to have him here. It wouldn’t have been the same without him.”

Tonikaku will compete for the £250k prize and a spot at the Royal Variety Show against Musa Motha, Amy Lou, Viggo Venn, Olivia Lynes, Ghetto Kids, Travis George, Malakai Bayoh, Duo Odyssey, Cillian O'Connor and Lillianna Clifton.

Britain's Got Talent airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
