Breathe easy, Patriots fans and fantasy owners: Tom Brady is back at practice

While Jimmy Garoppolo showed in his two September starts that he’s a more than competent quarterback, there’s still something unsettling for New England Patriots fans when they see that The Franchise, Tom Brady, misses two straight days of practice.

Brady did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday, and the team has listed him with a knee injury, though it’s unclear when the injury happened.

But the 39-year old returned to practice on Friday, and signs still point to Brady playing on Sunday against the New York Jets. CSN New England reporter Phil Perry tweeted video of Brady and his teammates warming up on an overcast day in Foxboro, Mass.:

Because he didn’t practice on Wednesday and there was no media access Thursday because of Thanksgiving, Brady held his weekly press conference Friday after practice.

Asked directly if he would play on Sunday, Brady said only, “We’ll see.”

I wish I could give you guys more,” he added, “but there’s not much to elaborate on.”

As noted by Boston Herald reporter Jeff Howe on Thursday, the last time Brady missed Wednesday and Thursday practices before a Sunday game, in Week 12 of 2010, he had a perfect passer rating. That game, against the Detroit Lions, saw Brady complete 21-of-27 passes for 341 yards and four touchdowns.
