This incredible Halloween appetizer is scary good! Amaze your guests with this bread spider filled with artichoke and spinach dip and cheesy breadstick legs.
2 balls of pizza dough
1 egg, whisked
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
store-bought or freshly made artichoke and spinach dip
1 black olive, sliced
Pre-heat oven to 375° F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
To make the spider, cut one ball of pizza dough in half. Shape one half into about a 5-inch ball for the "body." Cut 1 inch off the remaining half and roll into a 4-inch ball to make the "head." (Tip: Use a steel dough separator for easy cutting.)
Next, cut your second ball into eight even strips and roll into a 6-inch rope to create the "legs."
Arrange the spider's body and legs on the prepared baking sheet.
Gently brush the dough with the egg.
Sprinkle the spider "legs" with Parmesan cheese.
Place spider in the oven for 25-30 minutes (you can cover the legs with foil if they start to brown too quickly!)
Once done, warm your artichoke and spinach dip and using a knife, hollow out the body of the spider. Fill the body with the warm dip.
Place two olive slices on the head of the spider for the eyes and serve.
