Bradley Beal lost it after fouling out of Game 4 on a controversial call

With five minutes to go in a crucial Game 4, Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal would have to watch his team from the bench. Beal fouled out on a controversial call during Sunday’s Game 4 matchup against the Toronto Raptors.

With the game tied 92-92, Beal picked up his sixth foul while trying to draw a charge on a rebound. After putting up a shot, Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan tried to grab his own rebound. The ball bounced off the rim and took him toward the sideline. As he came down with the ball, DeRozan’s momentum took him toward Beal, who stood still with his hands up in an attempt to draw a charge.

It didn’t work. Beal was called for the foul. He couldn’t believe it, and immediately got up and ran down the court yelling about the call. He then started walking off the court toward the tunnel. Along the way, he gestured in frustration with his arm and picked up and threw a small object at the floor. Despite the outburst, Beal managed to avoid a technical.

It marked the first time all season Beal fouled out of a game.

With the Wizards still fighting, all Beal could do was watch the rest of the contest from the bench. He wound up being pretty satisfied, as the Wizards pulled off a 106-98 win to even the series. Beal was the team’s biggest cheerleader down the stretch, showing plenty of emotion as his team surged ahead late in the game.

Though he missed the final five minutes of the contest, Beal led the Wizards with 31 points. John Wall stepped it up with Beal out, scoring eight points in the final five minutes to give the Wizards the win.

Both teams will be looking to take back the lead in the series during Game 5 on Wednesday.
