Borussia Dortmund warn Chelsea and Liverpool off making a January move for Christian Pulisic

Chelsea and Liverpool have been warned off making a January move for Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic.

The USA forward has been heavily tipped to complete a move to Chelsea in January, while Liverpool are also interested in the 20-year-old.

But any move for Pulisic will have to wait until the end of the season, with Dortmund insisting that he will remain their player until the end of the season at least.

“We have known these rumours for many years,” Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told Kicker.

“We plan at least until the end of the season with him. We will still need Christian significantly.”

Pulisic’s Dortmund future has come under increased scrutiny this season after a frustrating time with injuries.

He has made just four starts in the Bundesliga and did not make it off the bench as they secured a memorable 3-2 victory over Bayern Munich before the international break.

Comments prior to the USA’s defeat against England at Wembley put Premier League clubs on high alert too.

“England, the Premier League, is a league where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why maybe one day I won’t play here,” he said.

“As you can see, we are having a great year at Dortmund and I am enjoying every moment of that. Then when the time comes for me to talk in the breaks about my future, then that’s when those things happen.

“Like I said before, reading these articles [about me], I tend to stay away from that stuff. I know it is going to be there but it is not my priority.”

Bringing Pulisic to the Premier League would not be cheap for either club, with the USA international expected to cost at least £70m – and potentially more if there is a bidding war.
