Boris Johnson channels his inner Rocky on a morning run

Boris Johnson has headed to Blackpool to close the Conservative Party Spring Conference and he certainly had a spring in his step as he went for a morning run along the beach.

The Prime Minister was captured in mid-flight by his chief photographer as he racked up the miles. At one point he stopped to talk to a local fisherman before carrying on.

Mr Johnson is due to address Blackpool Winter Gardens around lunchtime. It will be the first time the Prime Minister has addressed a mass gathering of the Tory membership since headlines hit of potential lockdown breaches in Downing Street.

However, he is expected to focus on two crises - the Ukraine war and the cost-of-living squeeze.
