Blues' Carl Gunnarsson guaranteed victory during 3rd intermission bathroom break
St. Louis Blues defenceman Carl Gunnarsson called his shot Wednesday night and delivered for his team in overtime, just not necessarily when, or where you’d expect.
Gunnarsson rang a shot off the post late in the third period that would’ve given the Blues a late lead in regulation. However, Gunnarsson remained determined and blasted a bullet from the point to secure the 3-2 victory, splitting the series against the Boston Bruins at one apiece.
After the game, Blues head coach Craig Berube explained the bizarre circumstances behind Gunnarsson’s Babe Ruth moment.
Berube told the Blues after the game that he ran into Gunnarsson “at the pisser” after the third period and Gunnarsson told him he just needed one more chance. #stlblues

Gunnarsson couldn’t help but be impressed with himself and confirmed that he indeed guaranteed the win while in the bathroom.
Asked by @frank_seravalli if his “one more chance” line to Berube happened “at the pisser,” Gunnarsson says: “I can’t deny that. That’s where it happened. That makes it even more fun, I guess.”

It was Gunnarsson’s first goal of the playoffs and it couldn’t have come at a better time, as the series resumes Saturday in St. Louis.
