Blue Jays prospect Bichette backs up comments with two-homer game

Bo Bichette really is doing everything the Toronto Blue Jays organization could ask of him.

After coming forward on Tuesday with regards to how he feels about still being in Triple-A, the 21-year-old backed his comments up with an impressive two-home run game.

The message has been sent, and it’s loud and clear.

Bichette wasn’t done after his pair of bombs. He also flashed his defensive brilliance with a barehanded play in the field.

All of this comes one day after MLB’s No. 8 prospect shared his thoughts about still not being called up to the Major League roster.

“I’ve done everything they asked me to do,” Bichette said to Sportsnet’s David Singh. “I’ve performed, I’ve put up numbers. I’ve gotten better offensively, defensively, base-running, as an athlete, as a teammate. Everything they’ve asked me to do, I’ve done for the past three years. So, if I’m not ready in their mind, there’s something new that they need to tell me I need to get better at.”

The shortstop has hit a slash of .309/.367/.519 with seven home runs in 46 games with the Buffalo Bisons this season.

The explanations as to why he has yet to be promoted are getting increasingly difficult to come up with.
