Blue Jackets Halt Losing Skid By Pounding Rival Pittsburgh

The losing streak is over!

Columbus had six different goal scorers, and 15 players had points in a 6-2 blowout win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Elvis Merzļikins made 21 saves on 23 Pens shots for the win.

The Jackets jumped on the Pens early but would allow the Pens to claw their way back to tie it. However, Mathieu Olivier would tie the game late in the second for the game-winner. Columbus would then pour on three goals in the third to put an exclamation point on the night.

It was a good night all around for the Blue Jackets, who pretty much won every possible aspect of this game to win their first game since October 30th.

Head Coach Dean Evason said after the game, "The crowd at the end. Have they always chanted that at the end of games? Because that was fantastic. I looked over at (Scott Ford) & I'm like 'What the hell are they chanting? I think it's CBJ, right?'"
