Binge On: New Seasons of 'Love Is Blind' and 'The Circle' Are On the Way
Social distancers, your binging efforts have been rewarded. Netflix announced today that two of its most watchable reality shows—Love Is Blind and The Circle—have been renewed for two additional seasons each. That means you have full permission to press play on your next episode of either first season.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Vanessa and (obviously) Nick Lachey will return as judges for seasons 2 and 3 of Love Is Blind. Season 2 will take place in Chicago, a location switch from the first season's Atlanta setting. As for The Circle, host Michelle Buteau will return, THR reports, along with a cast of new contestants vying for a $100,000 prize.

Both The Circle and Love Is Blind gained popularity long before COVID-19 rendered everyone homebound and content-hungry. (The Circle premiered on January 1, Love Is Blind on February 13.) However, each series holds a particular resonance for our current moment, as both isolate contestants from one another for the sake of social experimenting.
The chaotic premises go something like this: In The Circle, contestants are secluded in studio apartments; their only access to each other is through a social network called, you guessed it, The Circle. From there, it's a complex series of games, intrigue, and rankings until a single (slightly unhinged) player is left standing. Love Is Blind introduces future spouses to each other through isolated chambers called pods where singles meet, talk, and propose to one another—before ever seeing them. After they do lock eyes, they're given six weeks to decide whether to say "I do" or leave each other at the altar.
The streamer announced the renewals via Twitter, confirming in the same tweet that Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, and T.I. would return as judges on Rhythm + Flow season 2 and Maria Kondo would debut a new series, Sparking Joy. THR reports that new seasons of Love Is Blind, The Circle, and Rhythm + Flow are expected to premiere in 2021.
