After years of two players dominating the EA FC (formerly FIFA) ratings, it's refreshing to see some variety at the top of the tree.
Of course, we refer to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who have now been overthrown by their younger competitors in the rankings. They're still hanging around in EA FC 25, but they're no longer centre of attention.
But who are the players that have usurped the serial Ballon d'Or winners? Here are the 50 highest-rated players in this year's game.
50. Theo Hernandez
If it's someone devilishly fast you want at left-back, look no further than Milan's Theo Hernandez. The France international won't lose too many battles out wide in EA FC 25 thanks largely to his 89 physical rating, but he can also deliver going forward with 76 shooting.
49. Paulo Dybala

Serie A star Paulo Dybala is a threat in four areas of EA FC 25. It's his 89 dribbling that stands out, but 80 pace, 85 shooting and 84 passing make the Argentinian a wonderful option at CAM.

Wolfsburg may have lost the deadly Ewa Pajor up top but they still have experienced Germany striker Alexandra Popp to call upon. If you're a player who appreciates the art of the headed goal, Popp could be an excellent addition to your team.

Arsenal pushed Manchester City all the way once again in last season's Premier League title race, with Bukayo Saka instrumental to their chase. Another positive campaign has seen him handed an upgrade, swapping 86 for an impressive 87 overall rating.

There are plenty of Bundesliga wonderkids available on EA FC 25 but Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala could be the most fun in-game. The Germany international has five-star skill moves and four-star weak foot to go alongside his awesome 90 dribbling.
45. Victor Osimhen (87)
There are some seriously mercurial cards in Turkey's Super Lig and a team spearheaded by 87-rated Victor Osimhen would be capable of dismantling most opponents in EA FC 25. The Nigerian is rapid with 89 pace and can finish chances with 84 shooting.
44. William Saliba (87)

Also key to Arsenal's 2023/24 success was William Saliba, who rightfully stands among the world's best defenders in EA FC 25. The Frenchman's impressive start to the new campaign highlights his continued importance to Mikel Arteta's men.

Gregor Kobel produced some monster performances for Borussia Dortmund en route to last term's Champions League final, with the Swiss goalkeeper comfortably among EA FC 25's most eye-catching stoppers.

The 2023/24 Bundesliga Player of the Season, Florian Wirtz helped Bayer Leverkusen go unbeaten domestically last term. He's started the new campaign on fire and has received an upgrade of +3 in EA FC 25 as he continues to blossom into a world-beater.

One of the leading defenders in the women's game, Wendie Renard's 88 overall rating is somewhat undermined by her 48 pace. That makes her borderline unusable in Ultimate Team, but she could be handy in Career Mode.

If you're looking to play a progressive game, passing out from the back at every opportunity, then Man City's Ederson is essential. The goalkeeper leads his peers for distribution in EA FC 25 and is not too shabby with his hands either.
