Bengals acquire R.J. Stanford

The Cincinnati Bengals are signing former Miami Dolphins cornerback R.J. Stanford, according to his agent, David Canter.

A former Utah standout, Stanford initially played running back in college before starting at cornerback.

Last season, Stanford, 25, had five tackles in 13 games.

Two seasons ago, he had 21 tackles for the Dolphins as he played in every game.

Stanford began his career with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent.

In 2011, he played a dozen games for the Panthers and had 13 tackles and one interception.

For his career, he has 39 tackles.
