Clemson linebacker Ben Boulware has apparently decided to let ESPN commentary dictate the location of a national championship tattoo.

Boulware tweeted a picture of a fresh College Football Playoff trophy tattoo Tuesday, with an accompanying quote by ESPN analyst and former Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard before the Tigers’ game vs. Florida State.

Howard said Clemson’s linebackers would be the team’s achilles heel. And Boulware has apparently decided to take that literally.

Clemson beat Florida State 37-34 in 2016, the second-straight time the Tigers had beaten the Seminoles. The win helped Clemson win the ACC’s Atlantic Divison on the way to a second-straight College Football Playoff appearance, where, as you know, the Tigers beat Alabama in the national title game.

We can’t imagine that a tattoo on the achilles tendon feels very good, though Boulware is certainly a unique dude. Perhaps he’ll also get a bigger one celebrating the win in another more visible location.

If you’re Howard, the tattoo is certainly proof that people are paying attention to what you’re saying. He mentioned Clemson’s linebackers in the context of Florida State running back Dalvin Cook. And while FSU didn’t win, it wasn’t for a lack of production by Cook. He had 19 carries for 169 yards and four touchdowns.
