There are solo efforts and then there are solo efforts like the one Jagger Williamson pulled off Saturday night.

While helping the BCHL’s Vernon Vipers complete a comeback over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks to finish off a weekend series sweep, the 17-year-old forward scored his first of the season shorthanded in pretty fashion.

Intercepts the pass, takes a whack, fights off an opponent, dekes a defender from his knees and then nets the goal that tied the game at three. Not bad, kid.

“I couldn’t even believe it when I saw it,” said Vipers captain Riley Brandt afterward to the Vernon Morning Star. “He must have blacked out though and probably didn’t know what he was doing. It was a great goal that tied the game up for us.”

We’re only midway through September and you’ve got to believe this one will find its way into the mix when talking about the year’s top goals.
