Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara on missing his brother and the influence of his father

The odds were always in favour of Thiago Alcantara becoming an athlete.

His mother was a volleyball player, his father, Mazinho, won the World Cup with Brazil in 1994, his younger brother Rafinha was a teammate at Barcelona and his cousin Rodrigo is a winger at Valencia.

The 25-year-old Spanish international sat down with FC Yahoo during Bayern Munich’s US tour stop in Chicago, where he spoke about the influence of his family, the role Pep Guardiola has played in his career and the season ahead for the Bundesliga giants.
