Bayern Munich have confirmed that Antonio Conte asked about midfielder Renato Sanches in Singapore this week.

Standard Sport reported on Friday that Conte spoke to Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti during Chelsea's 3-2 friendly loss on Tuesday about Sanches, who put in a superb performance for the German side in Singapore.

The 19-year-old only moved to Bayern last summer in a deal worth an initial £31.3million but failed to break into the first-team - making just 17 Bundesliga appearances last season.

Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that while the club do not want to sell the Portugal international, they would be willing to send him on a season-long loan - and revealed one of the clubs who are interested in taking Sanches is Chelsea.

"There are at least 10 teams after Sanches," he told Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Conte asked for some information about him after Tuesday’s match because he knows he can make the difference on the pitch.

"[Carlo] Ancelotti was pleased with his performance against Chelsea so we can make some reasoning on him later."

He added: "Almost certainly we'll let him leave just on loan, we still count on him."
