Bautista's strikeout record an unfortunate footnote on Blue Jays career

There is no doubt whatsoever that Jose Bautista is one of the greatest Toronto Blue Jays of all time.

His statistical accomplishments dot the team’s record books and the big moments he’s been a part of gave endeared him to Blue Jays fans everywhere.

However, on Thursday night he set the club’s single-season strikeout record with 160 – a sour footnote on his legendary run with the team. It’s an ugly mark to hold, but one that should do little to tarnish his legacy in Toronto.
