Sept 2 (The Sports Xchange) - Oakland A's right-hander Evan Scribner will miss the rest of the season with a torn right lat muscle, manager Bob Melvin said Wednesday. Scribner suffered the injury Monday night in the ninth inning against the Los Angeles Angels. He is not expected to have surgery. - - The St. Louis Cardinals optioned left-handed starter Marco Gonzales to Triple-A Memphis and called up three pitchers. The team recalled left-handers Tyler Lyons and Nick Greenwood, and right-hander Miguel Socolovich, all from Memphis. - - The Los Angeles Angels recalled outfielder Efren Navarro from Triple-A Salt Lake. It's the fifth call-up for the 29-year-old this season. In 37 games over his first four stints, he hit .260 with five RBIs. - - The Seattle Mariners optioned infielder Jesus Montero to Triple-A Tacoma. Montero, 25, was in his second stint with the Mariners. He is hitting .200 with two home runs and nine RBIs in 25 games this season. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
