Braun, suspended the final 65 games of last season for violating Major League Baseball's drug prevention and treatment program, hit a three-run homer in the third, a solo shot in the fourth and added a three-run shot in the eighth. - - - Rays 1, Royals 0 Chris Archer and three Tampa Bay relievers combined to shutout the Kansas City Royals. The Cardinals improved to 5-3 while the Reds fell to 2-6. - - - Pirates 7, Cubs 6 Starling Marte scored the winning run on catcher Russell Martin's eighth-inning sacrifice fly as the Pittsburgh Pirates topped the Cubs. Tony Watson (2-0) worked the seventh and earned the win as the Pirates (5-2) won their fifth in seven games Starlin Castro homered twice and had four RBIs for Chicago (2-5) in the loss. - - - Indians 8, Padres 6 David Murphy had a double, a home run and four RBIs, center fielder Nyjer Morgan added three hits, and right-hander Corey Kluber pitched six solid innings to lead the Cleveland Indians to a win over the San Diego Padres. Murphy's three-run home run in the fourth inning gave Cleveland a 6-2 lead. Murphy doubled home another run in the sixth inning, giving him six hits and five RBIs in seven at-bats. - - - Giants 7, Diamondbacks 3 First baseman Brandon Belt smacked his fifth home run of the season, a two-run shot in the first inning that propelled the San Francisco Giants to a win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Angel Pagan ran his hitting streak to eight games with two hits and left fielder Michael Morse shone on his San Francisco debut with a two-run single and ground-rule double as the Giants ran their record to 6-2 with their fourth win over the Diamondbacks in five early season matchups. - - - Orioles 14, Yankees 5 Adam Jones, designated hitter Delmon Young and catcher Matt Wieters hit two-run home runs and the Baltimore Orioles enjoyed their most productive showing of the season with a victory over the New York Yankees. Jose Bautista also hit his fourth homer of the season for the Blue Jays (4-4), who took the opener of the three-game series and handed the Astros (3-5) their second loss in a row. - - - Nationals 5, Marlins 0 Nationals left-hander Gio Gonzalez pitched six scoreless innings, and third baseman Anthony Rendon had two hits and three RBIs in Washington's win over the Miami Marlins.
