Harvey's streak of 16 consecutive scoreless innings ended quickly when McCutchen hit a two-run homer for his sixth of the season. It only got worse for Harvey (5-2), who allowed a career-high seven runs in a career-low four innings. - - Rangers 15, Yankees 4 Shin-Soo Choo drove in four runs during a 10-run third inning as the Texas Rangers routed the slumping New York Yankees, who lost their fifth successive game. South Korean Choo started the inning with an RBI single and finished the inning with a three-run homer. Prince Fielder added an RBI single in the third and homered in the seventh. Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia (2-6) had won two straight starts but was torched for six runs and seven hits in 2-1/3 innings. - - Mariners 3, Blue Jays 2 Left-hander James Paxton pitched six innings and third baseman Kyle Seager hit a home run as the Seattle Mariners sent the Toronto Blue Jays to their ninth loss in 11 games. Paxton (3-2) allowed four hits, three walks and two runs while striking out four. - - Phillies 8, Nationals 1 Cole Hamels won his fourth straight start as the Philadelphia Phillies beat error-prone Washington, snapping the Nationals' six-game win streak. Hamels (5-3) beat the Nationals for the first time in seven starts as he allowed only five hits and one run in eight innings. - - Astros 3, Tigers 2 Lance McCullers recorded his first major league victory in his second start and Houston turned their first triple play in 11 seasons as they beat the Detroit Tigers. The 21-year-old McCullers (1-0) allowed two runs on six hits and struck out six in six innings. He was aided by the fifth-inning, around-the-horn triple play, Houston's first since Aug. 19, 2004, at Philadelphia. - - Indians 2, Reds 1 Jason Kipnis drove in the deciding run with an RBI double in the eighth inning as the Cleveland Indians beat Cincinnati for their fifth consecutive win. Right-hander Corey Kluber (2-5) pitched eight innings to get the win and send the skidding Reds to their seventh straight loss. - - Twins 4, White Sox 3 Minnesota jumped on Chris Sale early and Trevor May contained the Chicago Cubs the rest of the way. May (3-3) struck out nine and allowed three runs in a career-high seven innings, while Sale gave up two home runs in the second inning. But Sale persevered and struck out 10 in eight innings for his 20th career double-digit strikeout game. - - Athletics 5, Rays 0 The Oakland Athletics ended a four-game losing streak, getting a strong start from rookie Kendall Graveman in a road victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. Graveman held the Rays to three hits and no runs in the six innings. He struck out six and walked two while throwing 93 pitches as Oakland improved to 15-30. - - Braves 3, Brewers 2 (11 innings) Second baseman Jace Peterson delivered the first winning hit of his career with two outs in the 11th inning and the Atlanta Braves beat the Milwaukee Brewers. - - Red Sox 8, Angels 3 Mike Napoli hit two home runs and the Boston Red Sox ended a three-game slide with a victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Both of Napoli's homers sailed over the Green Monster in left field, giving him 14 career multi-homer games after his fourth long ball in the last five games. - - Royals 3, Cardinals 2 (5 1/2 innings) Alex Gordon homered as the Kansas City Royals beat the St. Louis Cardinals in a game that was called after 5 1/2 innings because of heavy rain. - - Giants 10, Rockies 8 (Game One) The San Francisco Giants scored all of their runs with two outs and withstood several charges by the Colorado Rockies to win the first game of a day-night doubleheader. The Giants won their eighth straight game, their longest winning streak since they reeled off eight in a row in September 2011. The Rockies lost for the 17th time in 21 games. - - - Rockies 5, Giants 3 (Game Two) David Hale pitched into the seventh inning in his Rockies debut and Daniel Descalso hit a rare home run as Colorado beat the San Francisco Giants to split their day-night doubleheader. - - - Cubs 9, Diamondbacks 6 Chicago first baseman Anthony Rizzo hit a tie-breaking three run home run in the ninth inning and tied a career best with six RBIs in the Cubs' victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. - - - Dodgers 2, Padres 0 Mike Bolsinger threw a one-hitter and center fielder Joc Pederson homered for the second night in a row, guiding the Los Angeles Dodgers to victory over the San Diego Padres. - - - Marlins 1, Orioles 0 (13 innings) The Miami Marlins snapped an eight-game losing streak with a win over the Baltimore Orioles that gave Dan Jennings his first win as manager.
