Barcelona target Nico Williams has already said no to a rival bid
Athletic Club star and Barcelona target Nico Williams has rejected a summer proposal from elsewhere on the continent.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards as much as having come by way of Paris Saint-Germain.
French giants PSG, like Barcelona, have of course been credited with a strong interest in the services of wide-man Williams this summer.
As much comes with the Ligue 1 champions on the lookout for reinforcements on the left flank, following the departure of star man Kylian Mbappé.
Nico, however, will not be the man to replace Real Madrid’s latest Galáctico signing.
This comes amid confirmation by way of the aforementioned Sport that the 22-year-old has informed the brass at the Parc des Princes that he will not be joining them this summer:
‘PSG have already officially confirmed for a few days that Nico Williams will not leave San Mamés to work under Luis Enrique. The striker has not accepted the Parisian offer, just as a few weeks ago he had already ruled out swapping La Liga for the Premier League.’
It is added that a move to Barcelona has not yet been definitively ruled out, but that, as things stand, Williams staying put with Athletic Club for 2024/25 is looking increasingly likely.
