'Bad driving' led to shooting of ex-NFL player McKnight: sheriff

(Reuters) - A Louisiana sheriff on Tuesday blamed road rage and a verbal argument that followed it for causing last week's fatal shooting of former National Football League player Joe McKnight.

At a news conference announcing a manslaughter charge against shooter Ronald Gasser, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand said that "bad driving behavior and bad spoken words" by both Gasser and McKnight led to the shooting.
