Auston Matthews has officially put together the best rookie season in Maple Leafs history.

After breaking Wendel Clark’s goal record last week, Matthews took down another historic mark Monday night by recording his 67th point of the season — the most by a rookie in franchise history. The record was previously held by Peter Ihnacak, who recorded 66 points in 1982-83.

Matthews tied the record with a big three-point night on Saturday before taking sole possession of the top spot with his 39th goal of the season in the first period against the Sabres.

The Scottsdale, Arizona native also surpassed Neal Broten’s record for the most goals ever scored by an American-born rookie and matched Sidney Crosby’s goal total from his freshman season in 2005-06.
