Auger-Aliassime suffers straight-set loss against Cilic in Suttgart Open final

Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime suffered a straight-set 7-6 (2), 6-3 defeat to Croatia's Marin Cilic at the Stuttgart Open final on Sunday.

The third-seeded Canadian was searching for his first ATP title in eight appearances in tournament finals.

Auger-Aliassime is now 3-0 against Cilic, a former U.S. Open champion. However, this was their first meeting on grass.

The win also marks Cilic's 19th single title and his first since 2018.

The 20-year-old native of Montreal, also lost the 2019 final in Stuttgart to Matteo Berrettini.
