Atascadero family lost ‘everything they owned’ in house fire. Here’s how to help

Cal Fire

After her family members lost their rural Atascadero home in a fire, a woman is reaching out to the community for help.

Ella Godfrey set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to help her parents and little sister rebuild after the devastating blaze.

“Their home caught on fire and literally lost everything they owned,” Godfrey wrote on the GoFundMe site. “No one was injured, thank God, but they are still grieving a place they spent years making their home and sentimental stuff that was lost.”

The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the home in the 9500 block of Los Palos Road, Cal Fire said at the time.

The home sustained “100% damage,” Cal Fire said.

Godfrey said that she’s hoping to raise enough money so her family can buy a recreational vehicle to have on the property.

As of 1:20 p.m. Sunday, the GoFundMe had raised $1,300 toward a $20,000 goal.
