Quite where Arsenal go from here will be fascinating.

While Mikel Arteta’s side certainly have made progress this season, there remains some work to be done if they are truly going to cement their place in the top four and duly return to the Champions League. For many, that relies on buying a striker.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang frozen out of the picture and Dusan Vlahovic now officially a Juventus player, the club will have to sort something out quickly if they truly wish to improve their frontline between now and the end of the transfer window.

Naturally, the proverbial rumour mill has gone into overdrive.

Here’s everything you need to know.

The England international has long been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium but, given the position Everton are in, the Merseyside outfit do not appear to be ready to sanction a move away for the striker.

Juventus’ Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo had emerged as a target earlier this month but any move now appears to be unlikely.

According to The Daily Mail, the prospect of an 18-month loan deal looks to have collapsed given the Old Lady do not wish to let him leave without securing a replacement.

Arsenal are weighing up a move for Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, writes Standard Sport’s Jack Rosser.

The 23-year-old has thrived at Villa Park since leaving the Etihad but is stalling over a new deal and is attracting plenty of interest.

Arsenal have agreed a deal in principle to sign USMNT international Matt Turner on a permanent deal.

That could, in turn, allow Bernd Leno to leave after the German lost his place to Aaron Ramsdale.

Barcelona and Juventus have both made loan approaches for the former Arsenal captain.

The Gabon international has not traveled with the rest of the squad for their warm-weather training camp in Dubai and does seem destined for a temporary move away at the very least.
