The Dallas Stars and Los Angeles Kings faced off on Thursday night in what you’d call a truculent affair: hits and general nastiness were everywhere.

One such hit was Brayden McNabb’s huge shoulder into an onrushing Patrick Sharp, sending the Dallas forward’s stick in one direction and his body into the boards.

Sharp hit his head, and was removed from the game in the second period to enter the concussion protocol.

A few minutes later, in the most predictable moment of the evening, Antoine Roussel saw a moment to exact revenge on McNabb during a scrum around the LA Kings’ net.

Witness, if you will, a man really wanting to avenge his teammate and another man being like ‘get the hell off me it was a clean hit you maniac’:

After this incident, Roussel was given the rare triple minor: four minutes for roughing, a two-minute unsportsmanlike conduct and a 10-minute misconduct.

Since Dallas still didn’t feel McNabb paid the price for the hit, having clung to the linesman as Roussel tried to pummel him, it was now Jamie Oleksiak’s turn to hit him hard and then fight him.

That’ll teach’em!

Later Roussel earned another unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the third period, and his reaction was completely sportsmanlike:

Let it never be said Antoine Roussel doesn’t make hockey fun.
