Yahoo Sports Another MAFS UK couple are expecting their first baby!
If you watched the fifth series of Married at First Sight UK, you might remember Owen Jenkins and Michelle Walder finding love on the show. Well, they’ve just announced that they’re expecting a baby.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2020 as part of the E4 reality dating show, took to Instagram to share the news on their joint account.
They revealed, “So, we’ve got news… #mafsuk #mafsbaby #mafsukbaby #comingdecember2023.”
In the first image Owen is seen holding up two bags of ice, while Michelle cradles her baby bump. And in the second photo the exciting pregnancy news is confirmed with a baby scan of their little one.
Owen and Michelle are actually the second MAFS UK couple to welcome a child together. Adam Aveling and Tayah Victoria from series six had a baby girl called Beau in October of 2022. And Adam was one of the first to congratulate Owen and Michelle following their announcement.
“Congrats guys! 🙌🙌🙌” he shared.
Married at First Sight UK’s relationship expert Paul Brunson – who was responsible for pairing Owen and Michelle in the first place – also added a comment, writing, “You’ll both be incredible parents 🙌🏾🙌🏾”
Last year the couple confirmed that they were planning to extend their family. Speaking to the Sheffield Star, Owen outlined, “we’ve talked about what’s next on the agenda over the next few years, which will be getting a dog and having a thinking about kids and things like that.”
"It’s kind of weird really, because a couple of years after meeting we should be thinking about getting engaged and married but we obviously fast-tracked that."
Even though they fast-tracked certain parts of their relationship, they only got around to taking their long awaited honeymoon in Rhodes, Greece last year – after it was postponed due to lockdown travel restrictions in 2020.
According to the hashtags that they used in their Instagram post, the baby is due in December and we wish them all the very best.
