Anne Hathaway Looks Just Like Andy Sachs in Her Latest Instagram Post

Andrea Sachs, is that you?

After nearly two decades since The Devil Wears Prada was released, Anne Hathaway appeared to keep the spirit of her iconic character's wardrobe alive in an outfit that's quintessentially Andy (post-metamorphosis, that is). Channeling her role through fashion, Hathaway wore a floral Valentino minidress with a built-in collar and long sleeves. She paired the look with sheer black tights, platform boots, and a dark peacoat.

While her outfit drummed up comparisons to the one Andy wore that finally got her noticed by her boss Miranda Presley — an all-black ensemble comprised of a minidress, sheer tights, knee-high boots and layered gold chain Chanel necklaces — it was her wispy bangs that really reminded fans of her beloved character. "Oh Andy, you look so Chic!" ❤️❤️❤️❤️," wrote one commenter. Another added, "Andy is back 😍."

Rather than The Devil Wears Prada, others thought Hathaway's look was very Emily in Paris. And it makes sense. Costume designer Patricia Field created a wardrobe for not only Andy, but also Lily Collin's character Emily years later.

Speaking about Andy's most iconic looks with InStyle, Field explained, "In The Devil Wears Prada, I was able to design a transformative fashion arc for Andy [Anne Hathaway]. Everyone still talks about the makeover montage that took her from a lumpy cerulean blue sweater to fabulous head to-toe Chanel. For the first time, she allowed herself to recognize the power of fashion, and the audience recognized it too." As for Emily, she said, "Yes, her style was intentionally clichéd, but it was also cheerful and whimsical and allowed her to fully express her enthusiasm for being there. I also loved taking something traditionally Parisian like an oversize Chanel jacket and pairing it with a patchwork dress by a local artist. Thankfully, Lily gets my head trip, which makes it fun for all of us." At the very least, they both have Chanel in common.
