When Amy Poehler stopped by The Tonight Show, she was not very impressed by host Jimmy Fallon‘s mustache (or his “Summer of ‘Stache,” as he calls it). On the other hand, the band Imagine Dragons shaved their face fur down to lip ticklers when Fallon challenged them to do so.
Poehler asked the audience what they thought about Fallon’s lip foliage. They shouted out various things including “sexy” and “Free Bird,” to which Poehler said, “It’s funny that you say ‘Free Bird,’ because I was going to say ‘struggling singer-songwriter.'”
When Poehler nailed down that persona, she elaborated on his mustachioed character. When Fallon was asked if he goes to coffeehouses, she said, “He technically isn’t allowed in any coffeehouses anymore. Because of the incident.”
And though this imagined man with the lip toupée might not be visiting any coffeehouses any time soon, he didn’t let his snot mop hold him back. Poehler said, “He leaves women his lyrics for them to find the next morning, and they’re like, ‘I made a mistake.'” Fallon asked, “And is he there when they find it?” to which she replied, “Oh, yeah, he’s hiding in her closet.”
Poehler stars alongside Will Ferrell in the upcoming comedy film The House, which is in theaters next Friday. The film also stars Ryan Simpkins, Jason Mantzoukas, Nick Kroll, Allison Tolman, Michaela Watkins, Cedric Yarbrough, and Jeremy Renner, and is directed by Andrew J. Cohen.
In the film, Ferrell and Poehler play a husband-and-wife duo who, after destroying their daughter’s college fund, team up with their neighbors to start an illegal casino in their basement to make money.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC. Watch clips and full episodes of The Tonight Show for free on Yahoo View.
