Amorim encouraged by what he has seen at Man Utd: ‘We’re improving in some aspects’
Ruben Amorim insists he is seeing an improvement from his Manchester United team since taking over at the club.
The United boss has so far overseen a draw with Ipswich, wins over Bodo/Glimt and Everton, and most recently a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal.
But despite a mixed start, Amorim says he is seeing improvement from his United players.
“I learn the same with wins because I focus on the performance,” Amorim said.
“We won 4-0 against Everton but I saw so many things that were wrong. I saw the same against Arsenal.
“We need time to think about things. We don’t have much time to train and have to prepare for the next opponent, but when I see the team, I think we’re improving in some aspects.”
Next up for United is Nottingham Forest, who were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City on Wednesday.
Amorim says he is close to knowing his best 11 but says it also depends on which condition the players are in.
“More or less, yes, we have an idea, but then we have players returning and we have to manage the load,” he said.
“Bruno Fernandes, you feel it against Arsenal he was tired in the end, but you know he will recover in the end. If you talk about Manuel [Ugarte], I’ve known him for a long time and he needs a little bit more time.”
