Nicki Minaj misses U-K concert after arrest

MANCHESTER, England (AP) – Nicki Minaj was forced to postpone her concert in Manchester, England, on Saturday because she says she had been busted for marijuana possession in the Netherlands. Promoter Live Nation says it will reschedule the show and honour all tickets. Minaj wrote on social media Saturday that police in the Amsterdam airport told her they found marijuana in her luggage as she boarded a plane for Manchester. Cannabis is illegal in the Netherlands, but recreational use is tolerated. Police say a 41-year-old woman was fined and released for exporting “soft drugs,” but they did not give details. Minaj said police wanted to make her late so negative stories would be written about her.

Obit - Songwriter Richard M. Sherman

NEW YORK (AP) — Songwriter Richard M. Sherman, who co-wrote many of the most famous Disney songs, has died. The Walt Disney Company says Sherman died Saturday in Los Angeles of age-related illness. He was 95. Sherman and his late brother Robert won two Oscars for their work on “Mary Poppins,” for best score and for best song for “Chim Chim Cher-ee.” They wrote the “Winnie the Pooh” theme song, and what is credited with being the most-played song in the world, thanks to Disney parks: “It’s a Small World (After All).” The Sherman Brothers' songs were used in the movies “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” “The Jungle Book,” “The Aristocats” and “Snoopy Come Home.” They also wrote the pop hits “Tall Paul” for Annette Funicello and “You’re 16” for Johnny Burnette, later covered by Ringo Starr.

Sean Kingston and his mother are arrested

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) – Sean Kingston and his mother are facing charges that include grand theft and identity theft in what prosecutors say is a scheme worth more than a million dollars. Arrest warrants released by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office say from October to March, Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, stole money, jewelry, furniture and a Cadillac Escalade. Turner is being held at the Broward County jail on 160-thousand-dollar bond. Kingston was arrested at his concert at Fort Irwin in California. Kingston’s attorney says Kingston will return voluntarily if allowed, and he looks forward to addressing the charges in court.

The Black Keys are reworking concerts after calling off the tour

UNDATED. (AP) _ There’s nothing wrong with The Black Keys. They’re just retooling their show. Days after the band’s “International Players” tour was quietly cancelled in North America, the band’s management posted a statement saying that Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney are “alive and well.” The statement says after The Black Keys' recent concerts in Europe, they decided to make some changes. Anyone holding tickets to the original tour dates will get refunds and be given the first crack at the new dates when they’re announced.

Bruce Springsteen has vocal issues during the European tour

PARIS (AP) – Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have called off shows in Europe for 10 days because of Springsteen’s vocal issues. The band’s management says in a statement Springsteen is “recuperating comfortably” after consulting with doctors. Springsteen’s shows in Marseille, Prague and Milan will be rescheduled. He’s expected to be cleared to perform for the Madrid show on June 12th.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Taylor Swift beats Billie Eilish (EYE’-lish) to keep the number-one spot on the Billboard 200 album chart for a fifth week. Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” moved another 378-thousand units this week. Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft” debuts in second, moving 339-thousand units. “One Thing At A Time” by Morgan Wallen is number three. Gunna’s “One of Wun” is fourth, and “We Don’t Trust You” by Future and Metro Boomin is fifth.
