Cats on the moon? Google’s AI tool is producing misleading responses that have experts worried

Google’s search engine used to spit out a ranked list of websites that might help you figure out an answer to your question. Now it provides instant answers generated by artificial intelligence that might tell you that cats have visited the moon. While the silliest answers shared on social media this week might represent just a fraction of what Google’s AI Overviews are telling its millions of users, several experts said the tech giant was irresponsible in releasing something that could further perpetuate misinformation.

Uvalde families sue Meta and Call of Duty maker on second anniversary of school attack

AUSTIN, Tex. (AP) - The families of a group of victims of the Uvalde school shooting have announced new lawsuits against Instagram parent company Meta Platforms, the maker of the video game Call of Duty and the gun company that made the assault rifle used in the shooting. They accuse the companies of partnering to promote and create content designed to glorify violence and effectively training the teenage gunman in one of the deadliest school shooting in U.S. history. The lawsuits against Meta, Activision and gun-maker Daniel Defense were announced on the two-year anniversary of the attack on Robb Elementary School.

Trump TV: Internet broadcaster beams the ex-president’s message directly to his MAGA faithful

OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) - In less than a decade, Right Side Broadcasting Network has gone from an upstart internet broadcaster to a major player in Donald Trump’s universe, amassing more than 2 million subscribers on its YouTube channel and on Rumble, an alternative video-sharing platform. As Trump’s loyal herald, carrying his message like a marathoner, live and unfiltered from rallies and other events, RSBN has allowed the former president to bypass traditional media and inject his vision for America directly into the veins of his diehard supporters. The channel does not challenge the former president. Its mantra is to let Trump be Trump.

MultiVersus: Warner Bros. characters battle it out

For 25 years, Super Smash Bros. has owned its self-created category — goofy, family-friendly, multiplayer brawling — because none of Nintendo’s competitors have its deep bench of characters. Warner Bros. Games could mount a serious challenge, though, with MultiVersus. Why not team up Wonder Woman and Jason Voorhees vs. Bugs Bunny and Steven Universe? And have them fight it out in the Batcave or the throne room from “Game of Thrones”? And it’s free-to-play, although WB hopes you’ll spend cash on season passes and cosmetic upgrades. The initial roster has a couple dozen fighters, and who knows how far WB will dig into its massive film library? Dirty Harry and The Exorcist go toe-to-toe in Casablanca? The battle begins Thursday on PlayStation 5/4, Xbox Series X/S/One and PC.
