UFC Fight Night 87 on Sunday in Rotterdam features a heavyweight bout between Jackson-Wink MMA teammates Andrei Arlvoski and Alistair Overeem in the main event.

Arlovski believes Overeem requested the match-up, but “The Reem” says that he didn’t have a choice.

“To set the record straight, I was not given a choice. Basically, Lorenzo [Fertitta] sent me a text saying, I want you the headline the UFC card in Rotterdam, and we have Andrei Arloski for you as an opponent,” Overeem explained to UFC Tonight.

“I said, that’s fine. He’s not my buddy. We don’t hang out. We hardly even train together,” he added. “Our relationship has never been great. He’s never been my friend. I’m totally okay with it.”

Overeem is ranked third in the UFC's heavyweight division while Arlovski is ranked fifth. If Overeem defeats Arlovski in Rotterdam, he expects to fight for the title in his next outing.

“I expect to get a title shot after I beat Andrei Arlovsk,” he said. “If we win, I do expect to get that title shot in November.”
