Alexis Sanchez has been named Arsenal’s player of the season for the second time in his three years at the club.

The Chilean was the overwhelming winner of the fan vote after an exceptional season in which he led Arsenal in scoring and assists.

Sanchez was nominated for the PFA Player of the Year prize, though he missed out in the vote of the team of the season, and won the club’s monthly individual award on five occasions.

It may however be the last time the 28-year-old collects a prize at the Emirates with Sanchez preparing for a summer in which his future will be the subject of extensive debate.

Arsenal have offered Sanchez a new £300,000-a-week contract with his current terms due to expire at the end of next season but are yet to receive a response with talks postponed until after the season.

Bayern Munich, Paris St Germain and Chelsea are among the interested parties in Sanchez’s signature and the forward has admitted he “expected to win titles” after a season in which Arsenal have failed to qualify for the Champions League.
