Aldi have gone halloumi mad with their new festive food additions, which are bound to please cheese addicts everywhere.

The budget supermarket was the first to sell halloumi fries and they’re now back by popular demand.

Aldi took their inspiration from Nando’s, who have been selling the cheesy snack as a side dish since February 2018.

The halloumi fries are covered in a lightly seasoned coating, making them extra golden and crispy.

They’re sold in packs of ten costing £1.99 and last year were so popular they sold out immediately, with the supermarket reportedly forced to limit shoppers to just two boxes.

If cheesy chips don’t take your fancy, why not try the new halloumi burger or halloumi-based pigs in blankets?

The burgers come in a box of four, priced at £2.29.

Aldi told Metro: “Customers will be thrilled to hear that everyone’s favourite cheesy snack is back, with the addition of a halloumi burger for the same price.”

If a cheesy double whammy is too much, meat lovers might want to add Aldi’s festive bacon-wrapped halloumi bites.

These pigs in blankets style snacks are both gooey and meaty, and are available in stores from December 5 for £2.49.

Luckily for cheese fans, the burgers and fries are available in store now.

In another Christmas addition, Aldi has introduced a spicy version of its classic pigs in blankets.

The Scorpion Chilli Pigs in Blankets cost £2.29 a pack, and should warm you up in the wintry weather.

Aldi commented: “Tired of having the same traditional pigs in blankets every Christmas? This year Supermarket Aldi is putting a twist on a Christmas classic, giving you that extra bit of fire on your tongue that you didn’t know that you needed.”

Scorpion chilies are renowned to be the second hottest in the world - and a whopping 40 times hotter than Tobasco sauce. The meat comes from Red Tractor approved 100 per cent British pork.

And if you’re looking for something delicious to wash down your festive food with, Aldi has a new selection of Christmas inspired tipples for its Bailey-inspired Ballycastle liqueurs.

Choose from gingerbread, caramel and hazelnut flavours, or for those with a super sweet tooth try the very sweet candy cane gin that comes in its own stripy red and white bottle.

Happy festive eating and drinking!
