Alabama DL Raekwon Davis apologizes for punching Missouri OL Kevin Pendleton
Alabama defensive lineman Raekwon Davis issued an apology late Saturday night after he was penalized for punching Missouri offensive lineman Kevin Pendleton multiple times.
Davis threw the punches in the second half. He was penalized for them but was not ejected despite how clear it was on replay that he was punching Pendleton.
A player can be ejected from the game for what officials deem a “flagrant” personal foul. Apparently Davis’ punches were not flagrant enough for ejection. He publicly apologized via Twitter after the game.
I would like to apologize to Kevin Pendleton, the Missouri Tigers, their fans, Alabama Fans, and my teammates and coaches for my actions during tonight’s game. I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and that’s unacceptable. Again I’m sorry and it will never happen again.

Pendleton accepted his apology. Alabama won the game 39-10.

As you can imagine, Davis got a lecture from coach Nick Saban when he came to the sideline after the personal foul penalty.
Davis is one of Alabama’s most important defensive players. He has 21 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss through the first seven games of the 2018 season as Alabama is 7-0 and the consensus No. 1 team in the country.
