LeBron James Triple Logoman card sells for record $2.4 million

LeBron James broke another record Saturday night.

A limited-edition 2020-21 Panini Flawless Triple Logoman patch card sold for $2.4 million at a Goldin Auction, which marks the highest sale price for a card that was pulled and sold within the same year.

The card features the NBA logo patch from three of his jerseys, one of each from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers.

Though the card didn’t set an overall record — a Honus Wagner T206 card went for $6.6 million last year — the James card is reportedly valued between $3 million to $5 million. Goldin founder and executive chairman Ken Goldin told USA Today that the “card is the undisputed holy grail of modern cards.”

It was one of five triple logoman cards that were created in the batch, though the James card was the only one to feature a single player. The others included:

Drake didn’t end up the lucky owner. JMo from Backyard Rips found it in May, via USA Today, and it belonged to three users who purchased a stake in the pull.
