70-Year Old Woman Finishes Ultramarathon

Gunhild Swanson is not only inspiring, but also has a flair for the dramatic.

The 70-year old became the oldest woman to finish a 100-mile Ultramarathon, completing the race with only six seconds left on the 30-hour cutoff.

The winner of the Western States 100 was Rob Krar, who finished in 14:48:59, but only 254 out of the 371 runners even made it to the finish line.

The course, which ran from Squaw Valley, CA to Auburn, CA was littered with rough terrain and steep gradients, making the feat even more impressive.

I guess 70 is the new 20.
