Charlotte Symphony

Location: Stumptown Park, 120 S Trade Street, Matthews, NC

Time: 8:15 p.m.

Cost: Free

Bring a blanket or chairs, enjoy dinner from one of the food trucks, and enjoy the Charlotte Symphony’s annual free concert in Matthews.

Saturday, June 10

Taste of Charlotte

Location: Tryon Street, from Trade Street to Brooklyn Village. 100 N Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

Time: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Cost: Free to attend. Buy festival coins for food and kids’ activities.

Taste of Charlotte returns to Tryon Street as a true street festival after a couple of years at Truist Field. This is the best way to try a wide variety of food from Charlotte’s most popular restaurants. There is also live music on three stages and plenty of kids’ activities. The festival is also taking place Friday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday, June 11

Look Good! Heal Good

Location: Weathered Souls Charlotte, 255 Clanton Road, Charlotte, NC 28217

Time: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: Free (donations accepted)

This event, presented by A Walking Vibe, puts the focus on men’s mental health, with a panel discussion, and therapist breakout sessions. Throughout the afternoon, free haircuts and cigars will be available. The first 20 guests will receive a free gratitude journal.

Monday, June 12

Cook Out Summer Shootout

Location: Charlotte Motor Speedway, 5555 Concord Parkway S, Concord, NC 28027

Time: Gates at 5 p.m. Green flag at 6 p.m.

Cost: $5. Free for kids 13 and under.

This is the first Cook Out Summer Shootout event of the summer. Watch future stars battle it out! Cook Out Summer Shootout will be taking place every Tuesday from June 13 to August 1, as well as two Mondays (tonight and July 3.) Tickets on Tuesdays are $10, but just $5 on Mondays.

Tuesday, June 13

Mess Fest

Location: Chestnut Square Park, 320 Chestnut Parkway, Indian Trail, NC 28079

Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Cost: Free

MacaroniKID Union, Fort Mill and South Charlotte are partnering with the town of Indian Trail Park and Rec to offer lots of creative, messy fun for kids. Kids can get their hands (and faces) dirty with activities like slime-making, painting, face paint, shaving cream and more, while you keep your house relatively slime-free.

Wednesday, June 14

The OG Boot Camp at Lenny Boy

Location: Lenny Boy Brewing Co., 3000 S Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28217

Time: 6:30 p.m.

Cost: Free

This free boot camp fitness class takes place every Wednesday. Bring your own workout mat. This event takes place in the event space, but if the weather’s nice it might be in the parking lot.

Thursday, June 15

Sam on Someday

Location: Petra’s, 1919 Commonwealth Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205

Time: 7 p.m.

Cost: $10 in advance. $12 at the door.

Sam on Someday is a live music series that brings together a diverse group of musicians from many genres to share their music and collaborate in one-time-only performances. This is an ideal introduction to Charlotte’s music scene. Sam on Someday is hosted by Sam Tayloe, of the local band, Time Sawyer. Musical guests include Jonathan Scales, Revelwood Mission, Greazy Keyz, Joe May, Wild Recluse, Tim Haney, Natalie Carr, Kerry Brooks, Kris Hitchcock, Justin Clyde Williams.
