Young child with autism scores 93-yard TD in Rutgers spring game
A record was broken during Rutgers’ spring game on Saturday.
OK, it’s not official. But we’re going to believe it is for the rest of the spring. Mordecai Carthy scored a 93-yard rushing touchdown for the Scarlet Knights during the spring game on Saturday. Take a look at how it went down.
Round of applause for Mordecai Carthy!

We’re a sucker for moments like this. This is pretty dang cool and its awesome how the team lifts Carthy up into the air after his TD.
“Yeah, it was actually just some really good moves by the ballcarrier,” Rutgers coach Chris Ash said about Carthy’s run to NJ.com. “He had some nifty feet, made some guys miss and then he had some breakaway speed there at the end to get into the end zone.”
The longest run in Rutgers history is still officially held by current NFL wide receiver Mohamed Sanu and his 91-yard run. But we’re guessing Sanu is OK handing over the record to Carthy on an unofficial basis.
