3 dogs rescued from Paso Robles home after fire starts in attic

Paso Robles firefighters rescued three dogs from a residential structure fire on Saturday afternoon, according to Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services.

Reports of “heavy fire involvement” in the attic of a house at 605 Clydesdale Circle came at 12:02 p.m. Saturday, the agency said in a news release.

The fire was contained in the attic of the single-family home and did not reach the living area, according to Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services.

No one was home at the time of the blaze, the release said.

“Three dogs were safely evacuated from the home by fire personnel,” Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services said.

Crews remained on the scene until 3:40 p.m., “conducting overhaul to extinguish hot spots within the attic and salvage operations to protect the contents of the homeowners,” the release said.

“Further investigation determined the cause of the fire was an electrical equipment malfunction,” the release said.

Three fire engines and a battalion chief from Paso Robles Fire responded to the blaze, the agency said, with the help of Cal Fire and Atascadero Fire & Emergency Services.

The Paso Robles Police Department, PG&E and San Luis Ambulance Service provided additional assistance, the release said.
