'For 25 minutes he looks the perfect centre forward'
Former Aston Villa forward Garry Thompson speaking on BBC Radio WM after Villa's win over Bayern Munich: "I’m so proud of these boys.
"They have done absolutely magnificently well because everyone looked at this and thought - 'amazing occasion but they won’t get an awful lot from the game'. They have had the occasion, they have not played the occasion, they have played the game and they have done ever so well.
"They competed with Bayern Munich, they took the game to them and Jhon Duran has scored another wonderful goal.
"Coming on with 20 minutes to go, 30 minutes to go, all of a sudden with his strength, his power, his pace, his ability to strike a ball as well. Jhon Duran is a centre forward and for 25 minutes he looks the perfect centre forward. If he turns that into 90 minutes, we have got some player here.
"The kid has talent, he has ability. When he came off the bench and we played Man City, he chested the ball, took it on the volley and hit the crossbar and you thought ‘hello, who is this kid?’.
"But bit by bit he has shown in parts he has a lot of ability. Jhon Duran looks a player."
