16 Luxe Clothing Brands Teamed Up to Make a Stylish Fundraising T-Shirt for Maui Relief

The first responders to the headline-making Maui wildfires on August 8 were part of the island’s local community. Now, an international group of brands has teamed up in the same spirit to create an eco-conscious t-shirt that raises funds for the victims.

The Maui on My Mind tee, featuring a very ’90s blend of fonts, was designed by Hawaii native Kapono Chung of the New York-based creative agency Combo. It’s being sold for $65 on the Moon Collective website. Passionfruit, a Hawaiian creative studio, tapped a group of brands to lend their names to the collection, which includes Adish, Barragan, Brain Dead, Cactus Plant Flea Market, Combo, Hawthorne, Jacquemus, Kaiao Space, Luar, Mauna Loa, Moon Collective, No.808, passionfruit, Salvage Public, Sig Zane, and Waialae Sportswear. All of their logos appear on the t-shirt’s back. The shirt itself is made from a blend of recycled materials and responsibly sourced cotton yarn. It’s available in sizes ranging from a small to 2XL.

One hundred percent of the profits from each sale will be donated to the Kākoʻo Maui Fund by the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CHNA). The money will go toward supporting the evolving needs of the devastated community. This includes providing shelter, food, financial assistance, and other service, according the campaign’s website. CNHA is also seeking support from corporate, philanthropic, and organizational matching funders to generate small-dollar donations.
