‘Who needs a doctor!?’ Miesha Tate shares video removing her own stitches

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate’s second fight since coming out of retirement was a tough one, and she wore the damage on her face as proof.

Tate was battered and bloodied after a crisp display of striking by Ketlen Vieira, who won their UFC Fight Night 198 headliner by unanimous decision last Saturday, Nov. 20.

Officially, Tate was handed a potential six-month medical suspension by the Nevada Athletic Commission, needing to be cleared by a doctor for potential fractures in her nose. Tate also received stitches below her left eye, which was visibly damaged from the fight.

As for the stitches? It was time for them to come out this week, and Tate didn’t bother to see the doctor for that. She just did it herself – and shared video on her YouTube channel, which can be seen below.

The video description reads:

“Who needs a doctor!? Healing up quick and ready to get back at it but first these stitches have to come out!”

“I think there’s no point in going to the doctor to remove these, but I’m also kind of crazy,” Tate says in the video.

She is a fighter, after all.
