The Dagger - NCAAB

What a sequence!

First it was Draymond Green taking — and making — a shot to give Michigan State the lead. Then senior Greivis Vasquez, the floor leader who's been so clutch for Maryland so many times this season, made his move and put the Terps back on top with a tough running leaner.

But Korie Lucious — after the ball nearly hit Delvon Roe in the head!! — gave us our second true buzzer-beating moment of this year's tournament. And what's even better? It was do or die. None of this miss-and-we'll-go-to-overtime business. With it all on the line and his team down one, Lucious sank his shot, and the Spartans are Sweet-16 bound.

But did you notice: This incredible, frantic ending almost didn't happen because Spartans coach Tom Izzo ALMOST called timeout. Watch carefully at the 29-second mark of the video below. Izzo nearly pulls the trigger on the TO but pulls back just before Lucious pulls up for the game-winner. It's a good thing Lucious didn't show the kind of hesitation his coach did, lest we be robbed of such heart-stopping pandemonium.

Does it get better than this? What an unbelievable 96 hours it's been. OK, now we start the debate: Is this the best NCAA tournament of all time? It's certainly on pace to be.
