The Phoenix Suns have produced a remarkable season already but still have plenty to play for in the last two games of the regular season when they face the Spurs on Saturday afternoon in the first of a back-to-back in San Antonio. The Suns (49-21) are focused on earning the top-seed in the Western Conference. Phoenix is a game behind Utah for the conference lead with two final regular-season games to play and own the tiebreaker with the Jazz should the teams be tied after Sunday.
The race for the top seed in the Western Conference is coming down to the wire. The Utah Jazz enter Friday's penultimate game of their regular season against the host Oklahoma City Thunder in the top spot, but Phoenix -- with the tiebreaker in hand -- remains within striking distance. Playing without leading scorer Donovan Mitchell since April 16 and fellow All-Star guard Mike Conley since April 26, the Jazz have been able to do more than stay afloat, going 6-3 since Conley's injury.
The Portland Trail Blazers picked a really good time to become one of the NBA's hottest teams. The Trail Blazers will look to record their sixth straight win and 10th in the past 11 games when they visit the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night. Portland (41-29) and the Dallas Mavericks share the fifth-best record in the Western Conference with the Los Angeles Lakers just one game behind.
