    Bisons catcher Henry hospitalized overnight after getting hit by backswing, now resting, recovering

    SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bisons catcher Payton Henry was hospitalized overnight after he was struck by a batter's backswing on Friday night and carted off the field on a stretcher. Henry was hit in the back of the head by the swing from Syracuse Mets third baseman Pablo Reyes in the seventh inning.     Blue Jays place closer Jordan Romano on injured list due to right elbow inflammation

    TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays have placed closer Jordan Romano on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation. The 31-year-old right-hander has a 1-2 record, eight saves and a 6.59 earned-run average over 15 appearances this year. Romano, from Markham, Ont., missed the first 17 games of the season with a similar elbow issue.
