    Slugger Jose Bautista powers Blue Jays to 3-1 victory over Rangers

Jose Bautista's three-run homer was all the offence the Blue Jays needed on Saturday as they extended their winning streak to five games with a 3-1 victory over the Texas Rangers. Toronto (23-26) is now three games under .500 and will be going for a season-high winning streak on Sunday afternoon.

    Two pitchers who have combined for exactly two major league wins face each other when Rob Whalen makes his Seattle Mariners debut against the Boston Red Sox's Brian Johnson in Game 2 of a three-game series at Fenway Park on Saturday. Whalen, acquired by Seattle from the Atlanta Braves last Nov. 28, is 1-2 with a 6.57 ERA in five career games, all starts and all with the Braves in 2016.
