Wednesday's incident isn't the first time a kid was injured at the stadium this year. Just another victim of an anachronistic law and billion-dollar corporations perfectly happy to hide behind it.
The Boston Red Sox are going back to the playoffs. A few hours after beating the Baltimore Orioles 9-0 on Wednesday night, the Red Sox were assured their second consecutive trip to the postseason when the Los Angeles Angels lost 6-5 to the Cleveland Indians. Of course, the Red Sox are looking for more than that.
Their playoff hopes all but vanished, the Baltimore Orioles open their final home series of the season on Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Baltimore (73-80) is jockeying for a fourth-place finish in the American League East with the Toronto Blue Jays (71-81). The Rays (74-78) are in a slightly better position but still face an uphill battle as they are four games behind the Minnesota Twins for the second AL wild card.
